“My most significant reason for choosing Imperial College Business School was the cohort. I sought an international environment that fosters diversity and inclusion, and that is exactly what I found at Imperial. Everyone is welcoming and open.”

What experience did you have prior to studying MSc Economics & Strategy for Business?

Before studying at Imperial College Business School, I had the opportunity to do a few banking internships and work in two consultancies, with a particular highlight being Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Additionally, I volunteered in numerous NGOs across Europe and in Serbia, my home country. The most meaningful and longest experience was volunteering in the European Youth Parliament, where I had the opportunity to work in various positions within different teams while traveling across Europe and meeting incredible people.

Why did you choose to study MSc Economics & Strategy for Business at Imperial College Business School?

My motivation for studying MSc Economics & Strategy for Business at Imperial stems from three areas: academics, career prospects, and the cohort. Regarding academics, I desired a programme that would provide me with a solid foundation in theoretical concepts while also enabling practical application. MSc Economics & Strategy for Business perfectly met this expectation, offering econometric courses and coding in R, studying various strategic and economic concepts, and participating in business simulations that provide insights into real-life decision-making processes. Additionally, the programme offers practical coursework alongside the opportunity to write a thesis as the culmination of the Master's examination.

Employability after the programme was another crucial factor. As I intended to remain in London after completing my Master's, I recognized the importance of the university's role in helping me navigate the competitive job market. The inspiring career prospects of our cohort and the invaluable assistance from Career Services were instrumental in our success.

Finally, my most significant reason for choosing Imperial College Business School was the cohort. I sought an international environment that fosters diversity and inclusion, and that is exactly what I found at Imperial. Everyone is welcoming and open, and I have the opportunity to meet new people daily on campus.

Are you part of any clubs or societies?

I am involved in several societies, some related to careers such as Fintech and Venture Capital, and others promoting social causes. These societies have helped me connect with people outside of my cohort who share similar interests. Additionally, I am a member of the Blyth Music Centre at Imperial, where I have met talented artists and fellow students who share my passion for music. This led to an initiative to create an Opera society with other members of the Centre.

How has the career support at the Business School helped you achieve your goals?

I am delighted to say that I have secured a job in a Management Consultancy in London, and the support I received from Imperial's Careers team was crucial. They provided invaluable guidance, resources, refined my resume, sharpened my interview skills, and facilitated networking opportunities. With their assistance, I gained confidence and effectively navigated the competitive job market.
