The Department Equality, Diversity and Departmental Culture (EDDC) committee is committed to fostering a positive working culture.  The EDDC committee is also responsible for the Department’s Athena Swan Award applications and is implementing an action plan aimed at achieving this award. The committee’s remit is:

  1. To oversee the implementation of the action plan submitted as part of the 2023 application for a Bronze Athena Swan Award.
  2. To prepare a successful application for a Silver Athena Swan Award in 2028.
  3. To coordinate the bi-annual Athena Swan Departmental survey.
  4. To consider and raise awareness of college level and faculty level activities to promote equality and diversity.
  5. To promote awareness of good practice in supporting equality and diversity in the Department.
