Title
Fixing GCC Intrinsics: Highlighting a blindspot with a big Neon sign
Abstract
Compiler intrinsics are often used to write high performance SIMD code for DSP applications such image and video codecs. In this presentation we'll share how we improved GCC's AArch64 backend implementation of Neon SIMD intrinsics to unlock significant gains in real-world application performance.
Speaker
Jonathan Wright is a SIMD performance optimization engineer in Arm's Open Source Software group - working to make the image and video codecs used by Chrome and Android faster and more efficient on Arm-powered devices.
