Tell us about your time at Imperial
"My time at Imperial was challenging and very demanding, as I initially faced considerable difficulties with the English language. With more confidence over time, I have understood that Imperial is a great place where one is taken out of the comfort zone and where one can grow on so many levels: problem solving, team-work, decision making, leadership, communication are a few examples."
Why did you choose to study at Imperial?
"Studying at Imperial was a decision I made after doing some research on the best European universities for Mathematics and Computer Science. At the time, I was interested in a university that could offer me an environment where I could practice and gain solid experience on top software engineering practices."
Can you tell us what you’ve done since Graduation?
"Immediately after graduation I started working as a Full Stack Software Engineer in a big data startup, an environment where I had the chance to learn and grow very quickly. One year after, I joined Nexmo as a Backend Software Engineer."
How has what you learnt at Imperial helped you in your career so far?
"Apart from the technical skills, the experience at Imperial taught me a few soft skills that guided me so far in the career, communication being a crucial one."
Do you have any advice for current Imperial students?
"Make use of all resources (from societies to job opportunities, teachers, tutors, mentors and classmates) Imperial offers and don't be scared to ask help if you need it. Embrace all opportunities that makes you walk that extra mile and try to get out of your comfort zone as often as possible."
