The Musculoskeletal Lab (MSk Lab) is a section within Surgery aiming to improve the clinical outcomes of patients undergoing joint replacement surgery whilst also pioneering in improved surgical training. The Centre for Blast Injury Studies (CBIS) has academics from several Faculties, including Engineering, Natural Sciences and Medicine. Professor Alison McGregor, from the MSk Lab, is an active member of the Centre and has collaborated on several successful grants with CBIS and also supervises PhD students within the Centre.

The MSk Lab aims to improve the clinical outcomes of patients undergoing joint replacement surgery (and reduce the costs of treatment) by developing and utilising new tools and technologies, improving rehabilitation methods and pioneering improved surgical training and techniques.

Centre for Blast Injury Studies

The Centre for Blast Injury Studies (CBIS) was established in 2011 to address the disabling injuries of conflict. With funding from The Royal British Legion and Imperial College London as well as support in kind from the Ministry of Defence, CBIS is comprised of the unique collaborations of civilian engineers and scientists working alongside military doctors.
