  • Echo Wan

    Personal details

Echo Wan PhD Candidate at the Collective Innovation Lab.

    Interdisciplinary Collaboration x Problem Framing

Conducting studies to understand the team dynamics and design process in interdisciplinary healthcare design teams. Knowledge boundaries act as key factors in collaborations with people from various disciplines, as they can shape one's understanding of the problem during the design process of a project. Especially in healthcare where the knowledge gaps are more pronounced among experts from medical, engineering, design, and business backgrounds. Additionally, more regulations and environmental restrictions also make healthcare design team work challenging to navigate. Echo's research addresses these challenges and aims to build a framework to create shared understandings and objectives for more effective collaboration, particularly in the problem framing phase of design process.
