Designing prediction markets for energy-related applications

Abstract
We are entering an era where data and information are becoming a key commodity. Data is collected and owned by distributed and heterogeneous stakeholders, who are not inclined to share their data. This is especially the case within energy systems. The benefits from data and AI will only be realised if we manage to incentivise data sharing and collaborative analytics. One promising approach is that of prediction markets, as a way to crowdsource information. The aim of this project is to design a new generation of prediction markets based on the latest advances within AI and mechanism design.
