Data Informed Sustainable Design Approaches

Abstract
This project aims to realise the next generation of sustainable design approaches, powered by emerging practices in data science.  Many current sustainable design tools are too short sighted. However, the proliferation of big data and embedded sensing provide an exciting opportunity to leverage technology to help us see further and deeper. This project investigates the use of data as a tool for enhancing the design process, understanding user behaviours, and building dialogues with key stakeholders to inform design. The aim is to develop data informed design methods that to support the development of ambitious future facing, evidence-based, sustainable solutions.
