AB - The performance of a synchronous reluctance drive can be optimized with regard to such parameters as power factor and transient response (or rate of change of torque). Constant current in inductive axis control yields the best transient response and is often termed vector control. Empirical models are derived to consider the effect of different control schemes on such parameters as steady state losses and low speed torque ripple.
