The Department welcomes flexible working arrangements where possible and will accommodate them, subject to business needs. All applications for flexible working must first be discussed with your line manager and then submitted in writing to chemeng.staffing@imperial.ac.uk for consideration by the Executive Committee. Please note that arrangements should not be implemented until written approval is received from the Committee.

The Department also offers childcare vouchers (current staff can access further information on the Students with children) which can be used to support academic activities such as attending conferences.
The Department encourages academic staff to apply for the Elsie Widdowson Fellowship award. The Fellowships are for academic staff (male or female) returning to work following maternity, adoption and/or shared parental leave and allows the Department to relieve the academic of teaching or administrative duties in order to concentrate fully on research.
