Title: Challenges and Opportunities of being small: how (and why) we designed a new vector architecture for M-profile
Speaker: Francois Botman
Abstract:
Arm’s M-profile architecture services a wide range of markets and use-cases, from helper cores inside larger SoC’s to microcontrollers to high-end audio systems. On thing in common: the constraints placed on the implementation. In this talk we give a brief overview of Helium, a new vector architecture designed specifically for M-profile, and share our experiences, our favourite bits, and what it means to bring up an entirely new architecture.
