Danny Lee - Design Engineering Wellbeing Advisor

Student Wellbeing Advisor for UG | Department Disability Officer

Danny is the School's Student Wellbeing advisor (UG) and is a specialist supporting the welfare and wellbeing of students, working closely with the School's Senior Tutor. He is available for 1:1 meetings. For more details, please see section 2.7 of the Student Handbook.

Danny is also the Departmental Disability Officer (DDO) and your first point of contact if there is anything about you as a person or your health such as disabilities and learning differences due to which you may benefit from support arrangements around factors like examinations.

Personal Tutors

Every undergraduate student in the Dyson School of Design Engineering is assigned a Personal Tutor upon commencing the programme. The personal tutor teams are drawn from the academic and teaching staff at the School and are available to support students with personal matters, general academic queries, and professional development. Meetings are timetabled between students and personal tutorials each term. Through regular contact and the establishment of a supportive and professional relationship, the Personal Tutors maintain an overview of their tutees’ academic progress, development and wellbeing.

Student Reps

In Design Engineering, there is usually one Academic and one Wellbeing Representative for each year or study, as well as an Academic and Wellbeing Representative for the department.

Wellbeing Reps help to raise awareness of any issues affecting student wellbeing and can signpost you to further support from the Wellbeing Adviser.

Academic Reps can signpost you to further support and use your feedback to inform academic staff on issues that students face, including assessments, learning experience, resources and academic experience.

Safety Manager

Faculty Senior Tutor

Faculty Senior Tutors have responsibility for ensuring the delivery of consistent, high quality support for students in their personal, general academic and professional development. Working with and supporting Personal Tutors and Senior Tutors, they ensure that support systems are effective, that training is appropriate and that College policies in student support are implemented. In addition, each Faculty Senior Tutor provides support to their senior tutors and directly to students who have more complex concerns or situations.
