Strategic flexibility in design & operations of future automotive manufacturing circular value chains under uncertainty
Abstract
This research explores the role of strategic flexibility in design and operations of future circular value chain for the automotive manufacturing industry under uncertainty. It seeks to develop a framework for automotive manufacturers to adapt to changing market demands, technological advancements, and supply chain disruptions, while promoting sustainability in the long run. By addressing key uncertainties and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration, the project contributes to reducing environmental impact and improving resilience. This aligns with Imperial’s strategic focus on climate, energy, and sustainability, while applying a transdisciplinary approach to co-design technologies and behaviours for sustainable automotive manufacturing.
