Course Overview
This course offers an in-depth exploration of the contributions and representations of women in the visual arts. Participants will examine the roles of female artists, patrons, collectors, and subjects from the Renaissance to the contemporary period. The course aims to shed light on the often-overlooked impact of women in art history and to discuss the social, cultural, and political factors that have influenced their participation and representation in the art world.
Through lectures, discussions, and visual analyses, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and achievements of women in art, as well as the evolving perceptions of gender in artistic expression.
