Course overview

We invite you to join Annette Crump and Helen Aitchison, together with a group of like-minded participants in a warm, welcoming space, to explore the concept of the Mandala as a therapeutic tool, and to create your own Mandala.

On this day school we will draw upon Jungian psychoanalytic perspectives, spiritual and meditation practices, the symbolism of Sacred Geometry and learn about the Archetype of the ‘Self’ to reflect upon our own inner state of wellbeing and our own journey towards wholeness.

This workshop aims to be be informative, educational and inspiring. It is mostly a practical art-based workshop utilising the traditional language of art – line, shape, colour and image - together with therapeutic techniques, such as brief meditations, as a means of unlocking the unconscious and supporting the expression of thoughts and feelings through personal response art making.

Through group discussion and sharing of experiences we can celebrate both the diversity and similarities of our human experience.  We can consider how to attend to our experience and relationship with ourselves and our life journey.

Please do note, this is not an art therapy session, it is about exploring how art therapists use art to explore aspects of the mind.
