Day School: Thursday 21 November 2024
Tutor: Marianne Walker

The  Victoria and Albert Museum has some of the most spectacular works of art in their collections, and on this one day session we invite you to spend time with the artist Marianne Walker drawing from the often unseen prints and drawings collection held in the V&A archives.

You do not have to have experience of drawing to take part in the class, but this course is primarily aimed at people who have some experience of drawing, even if only a beginner's level, and would like to work with Marianne and this astonishing collection, on improving their drawing skills.

Numbers on this course are very strictly limited, with no more than ten people able to sign up due to security restrictions on accessing the collections.

Fee does not include transport, art materials or lunch.

Your Tutor

Marianne Walker is a London-based artist who gained an MA in Sculpture from Wimbledon College of Art in 2002 and received The Observer Magazine New British Artist Award for her final exhibition, a pencil drawn installation.

Marianne sees her practice as sitting right on the cusp between drawing and sculpture. She is always attempting to draw across three dimensions, to bring the drawn mark into the real world. To date she has made drawings into films and installations as well as more traditional works on paper.

Marianne is an experienced adult education tutor, with expertise not only in face-to-face teaching but the world of online learning in art.
