This course approaches the practical problems that face the diagnostic pathologist when dealing with cardiovascular pathology, which is the most common cause of death in the western world today. The approach to a cardiac autopsy , cardiac anatomy and sudden cardiac death will be emphasised. Topics covered include: Valvular Heart Disease, Cardiomyopathies, inherited cardiac disease, myocarditis, cardiac tumours and transplantation.A large collection of cardiac specimens and a cardiac pathology museum are also included for study during the two day course.
