Moral Machines

Moral Machines

Technology is here to stay. As it interweaves into our lives, we are today more reliant to its many facets. Digital transformation stands for productivity increases and cost efficiencies, but also questions on ethics and responsibility. After numerous scandals and public breaches of data, we must ask what responsible technology means? And how we can create more ethical technology systems for the future? This session will explore new considerations, interventions and systems that can allow people to positively engage with technology.

Tech Foresight 2040 – Intentional Creations

New technology broadens the horizon of human possibility, allowing us to accomplish our objectives in ways that past generations would have found unimaginable. Across society, technology is being scrutinised for its unintended consequences: The harmful effects that material developments can have on our planet, and the threat that digital technologies pose to our mental wellbeing, privacy and democratic systems.

Tech Foresight 2040: Intentional Creations, a virtual conference curated by Imperial Tech Foresight and powered by Imperial Business Partners, will reframe technology for good and share positive ways for our technological futures. We will explore the topic across three different areas: Meta-Motivations, Moral Machines and Malleable Matter. Join us over three days this June to explore how science and technology can create healthier, more resilient and sustainable futures.
