Can fuels produced from plastic help us to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector? What is the best thing to do with difficult wastes when we have targets to reduce landfill and reduce GHG emissions? This talk examines how various counterfactual outcomes for non-recyclable waste plastic can affect policy decisions.

Dr Carly Whittaker, Principal Sustainability and Compliance Specialist, Department for Transport
Carly works at the Department for Transport in the Low Carbon Fuels Team where she works on policy development and compliance with the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation. Prior to that she worked in academia in various roles focused on the Life Cycle Assessment of bioenergy systems. Carly is an alumni of Imperial College and worked there as a Research Assistant after completing her studies.
