Please join us for the next instalment of the Wright Fleming Institute Seminar Series
Paul Lehner – trained in medicine and infectious diseases in London. He is Professor of Immunology and Medicine at the University of Cambridge where he holds a Wellcome Trust Principal Research Fellowship and works as an Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases at Addenbrookes hospital. His work sits at the interface between immunology and virology. His lab uses functional genetic and proteomic technologies to study how viruses interact with, and evade recognition of, the human immune system.
These approaches led to the discovery of HUSH (Human Silencing Hub) – an epigenetic repressor complex which forms the genetic basis for silencing of newly integrated retroviruses, and an understanding of how human viruses manipulate the host cell proteome to enable their replication.
If consented a recording may be available for college users the following day (please refer to the WFI seminar series web page)
(for recording purposes kindly remember to mute your microphone and video when joining)
Please Note: This seminar concludes the current series (WFI Seminars will recommence early June)
