In this talk, Dr Mark Lawless from JBA Consulting (www.jbaconsulting.com), a leading Engineering and Scientific Consultancy, will discuss the innovative work they do in the space of coastal flood and metocean risk management in the UK and internationally, touching on key themes such as: (1) coastal extremes, flood modelling and forecasting; (2) nature-based solutions in the coastal environment, and (3) metocean and logistics management for the offshore wind sector.  This talk will provide insight into how novel science and technology are used to solve industrial and humanitarian problems.
