Title
Hypocoercivity, mixing and enhanced dissipation with random vector fields
Abstract
We study the transport of a passive scalar by the action of a randomly driven vector field. Instead of following a dynamical perspective, we consider a PDE setting to show with purely analytical methods a connection between hypocoercivity of a certain operator and almost sure exponential mixing for the passive scalar. As a corollary we obtain enhanced dissipation for the diffusive problem with optimal rate. We also provide examples of vector fields for which our results to hold.
Please note that the seminar will take place in person in room 140 of Huxley Building.
