We are delighted to welcome Ms Paulette Williams, Founder of Leading Routes, an initiative that supports Black scholars from pre-entry to early career researchers through interventions and research. With over 15 years of experience leading education strategy and widening participation interventions in higher education, Paulette is a trailblazer in the field. Leading Routes continues to provide a global platform to celebrate Black scholarship.
Ms Jo Adetunji is Editor of The Conversation UK, which publishes articles written by academic experts via a newsroom of journalists, and was previously a reporter at The Guardian. She is passionate about supporting journalism that is healthy and thriving, and is a trustee of the Public Interest News Foundation which champions independent publishers. She was a member of the Cairncross Review into press sustainability in the UK and is on the board of the British Journalism Review. She is also a keen supporter of the NCTJ’s Journalism Diversity Fund.
Dr Anu Obaro is an award-winning Consultant Radiologist working at St Mark’s and Northwick Park Hospitals. Her PhD on radiologist performance in CT colonography (CTC) for bowel cancer screening has contributed to the implementation of a national CTC training programme, of which she is the Online Training Lead. Anu’s research has been published in multiple journals including the Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Radiology. She is a passionate educator and racial equity advocate, with a desire to increase the representation of Black females in healthcare and academia. Anu co-founded RadReach, a collaboration with the Royal College of Radiologists which aims to widen participation of those from underrepresented groups in radiology and oncology.
