Biography:   Dr Alexandre Bolze

Alexandre Bolze is currently a principal scientist at Helix in California. He did his PhD in New York at The Rockefeller University in the lab of Human Genetics of Infectious Diseases with Dr. Jean-Laurent Casanova, where he studied the cause of life-threatening bacterial infections in young children. He did a postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF with Dr. Jonathan Weissman to understand the molecular impact of haploinsufficiency of ribosomal protein SA, which leads to asplenia in humans. He then joined Helix to build and develop methods to analyze population-scale datasets of exomes and electronic health records. He is currently the PI on a CDC funded study to identify the host and viral genetics of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine efficacy, and he co-leads the COVID Human Genetic Effort consortium think tank on the genetics of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine-associated myocarditis.
