The 2023 Summer Term Cardiac Function Seminar series talks will be back Thursday 06th July 2023.

Dear Colleagues and Students

The 2023 Summer Term Cardiac Function Seminar series talks will be back Thursday 29 June 2023.

We will be welcoming Arunashis Sau, Clinical Research Fellow, NHLI.

Talk Title: Deep learning-derived ECG features have prognostic significance and important phenotypic and genotypic associations

Talk Time: 12:30 – 13:30 UK time

Location: Hybrid Meeting (Hybrid – online Via Teams and Meeting room 427/428 4th Floor ICTEM, Hammersmith Campus, Du Cane Road W12 0NN

Please note the seminar organizers and the Head of Section would like to request that attendees will in the majority of cases be physically present in the seminar room and a participation via Teams shall be the exception

Talk Description:

British Cardiovascular Society 2023 Young Investigator Award winning presentation:

Machine learning has the potential to identify novel markers of risk from the ECG that can go beyond clinician ECG interpretation. In this talk I will explore our work using a hybrid machine learning model to identify prognostically significant phenogroups, which were externally validated in multiple cohorts from around the world. I will then show how we explored the phenome and genome to provide novel biological insights into these machine learning predictions.

If you are joining online and you have not yet signed up to join the Cardiac Function Seminar Team group in order to participate in the seminar online please register via the linked tab or here which will provide access to the Team.

Please do this ahead of time of the talk.
