Abstract: This presentation focuses on investigating characteristics of tsunami-like bores generated by different generation systems in the laboratory. These characteristics include the bore strength, bore height and bore length. In this presentation we compare the bores generated employing long-stroke wavemaker, dam-break and Pneumatic Long-Wave Generation (PLWG) systems. We provide analytical relations to aid in laboratory experimental design aiming to generate bores or inundations of specific characteristics. We also present an extended dataset of non-uniform bores generated employing the combination of dam-break, wavemaker and PLWG systems, including inundation and run-up measurements.
