Title
Models for Robust Design and Operation of Energy Networks
Abstract
We will discuss different examples of robust network operation and planning. We will show results from robust hydrogen network design, the impact of uncertainty on energy markets. Finally, we will discuss the results of a multi-year project with National Grid ESO, the electrical transmission operator of GB, where we improved their planning of outages.
Bio
Lars Schewe is a Reader in Operational Research at the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. His research is focusing on mixed-integer nonlinear optimization with applications in energy. He has worked both on the optimization of the design and operation of energy networks and mathematical models of energy markets.
