Title: Ricci flow from spaces with edge type conical singularities
Speaker: Lucas Lavoyer
Abstract: In this talk, we will give a brief introduction to the Ricci flow, and discuss how it can be used to smooth out certain singular spaces. We will then construct a solution to Ricci flow that smooths out certain spaces with edge type conical singularities along a closed curve, under some additional assumptions. We also prove curvature estimates for the solution and, for edge points, we show that the tangent flow belongs to a special class of solutions called expanding Ricci solitons.
Some snacks will be provided before and after the talk.
