Briefing note launch and panel discussion – breakfast event

Join us on Thursday 22 February, for the breakfast launch of our Briefing Note Biodiversity and Ecosystem Function: A global analysis of trends. High levels of biodiversity are vital in preserving ecosystem function. There however remains major gaps in our understanding of how ecosystems work, and how this interacts with climate change. Co-author Dr Will Pearse, Reader in Evolutionary Ecology in the Department of Life Sciences, will present work conducted within the Centre on this, including key recommendations for policy makers. This will be followed by a panel discussion with invited guests:

  • Professor Mike Morecroft (Head of Climate Science at Natural England)
  • Professor James Bullock (CEH Wallingford)
  • Kathryn Brown (Director of Climate Change and Evidence at The Wildlife Trusts)
  • Akiko Furuya (Global Ecosystem Protection Specialist at Hitachi Energy)
