We aim to inspire the next generation of design engineers together with visitors from industry and foster the strong community spirit within the School.
Pioneering the integration of design, engineering and enterprise since the School’s foundation in 2014, we are always excited to open the doors of our iconic home in this refurbished Edwardian baroque building to all those interested in the next generation of design and technology. During the two days we host a talks programme and exhibits of work from all four years of the MEng Design Engineering course, our 40 plus year collaboration with the Royal College of Art and the Innovation Design Engineering (IDE) programme, plus selected work from our group of over 80 PhD students.
OPEN HOUSE is organised by the student led Design Engineering Society, who throughout the year organise social events, hackathons, soapbox talks and visits from leading figures in industry. OPEN HOUSE is not only about the inspiring projects on display, but also a flavour of the ambitious and motivational spirit amongst the whole School community.
This year OPENHOUSE will encompass exhibits in our distinctive reburbised Edwardian Baroque building on Exhibition Road, and also, excitingly, in Imperial College’s Main entrance, where work from our IDE programme will be exhibited, and will be the focal point for an Industry networking event 5:30-8:30pm Thursday 21st March.
