SF Startup Showcase

Few issues unite the Imperial community with as much determination and urgency as the interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. We are a world-leader in climate change research, and our community of students, researchers and alumni are uniquely placed to deliver the solutions we need to make the zero pollution vision a reality. 

Taking place during Climate Week, Imperial is bringing together our diverse community of STEMB alumni with regional partners, policymakers, investors and founders with a mission to develop powerful networks which accelerate the clean tech innovation timeline for deep science focused start-ups.

We invite you to join this startup showcase where five graduate founders working at the cutting edge of clean tech will showcase their innovative solutions for a climate resilient future. The event will be hosted by Professor Mary Ryan, Vice-Provost for Research and Enterprise and Lead for the Transition to Zero Pollution initiative. 

Opening remarks will be presented by Imperial’s President, Professor Hugh Brady, and you will have the opportunity to network with leaders from the New York tech ecosystem and colleagues from the UK’s most innovative university representing:

Startups line-up:

  • Notplaa London-based sustainable packaging startup that creates seaweed and plant-based alternatives to single-use plastics. Their technology has reached full industrialization, with millions of units sold across nine EU countries and the US.
  • ToffeeX – is the leader in physics-driven generative design used by the world’s leading engineering organizations to accelerate their path to sustainability
  • Team Repair – are on a mission to give all children the confidence to pursue a career in STEM whilst also tackling the e-waste crisis by teaching electronics repair
  • Cyanoskin – is an innovative living paint designed to transform buildings into carbon dioxide-absorbing structures, reducing emissions and addressing urban pollution
  • Multus Biotechnology Ltd – stands at the forefront of a transformative movement in food production. Dedicated to revolutionizing the way we nourish ourselves for a sustainable future, their primary objective is to make cultivated meat—an environmentally friendly choice—accessible to all.
