New Gen Festival is Ealing’s annual festival by and for youth, now in its third year and taking place on Wednesday 24 July from 12pm to 9.30pm in Walpole Park. New Gen is a festival of music, dance, creativity and inclusion aimed at young people ages 10 to 25.

The headliner is CRISTALE, a supremely skilled rapper (‘Morgan’, ‘Whites’ and ‘See Myself’) who also recently appeared as an actor in the Channel 4 and Disney collaboration Queenie. Tickets are only £3 for under 25s (and accompanying parents/carers of under 16s), and £5 for the forever young.

This year New Gen has two stages, three covered activity zones, and a range of activities in gazebos and under trees dotted around the site. There is dance, music, spoken word, workshops, football, mindfulness, refreshments, a film & media careers programme, and support for young people with additional needs and their families.

  • MAIN STAGE: Cristale and DJ Kwamz are joined by ten emerging West London music artists chosen by the Bollo youth panel, plus dance workshops and performances.
  • WEST STAGE: music & spoken word takeovers by Rebels & Pilgrims, London College of Music, The Metaphorest, and Include Me.
  • TAKE PART: have a go at steelpans with True Steel Band, upcycling clothing, Westside Radio’s Presenter Talent Search, the New Gen Film Shoot (in front of or behind the camera), Gita Ralleigh’s Found Poetry Workshop, or the music & poetry open mic.
  • FILM PANEL: find out about pathways into film and TV from our panel of industry professionals talking about what it’s really like doing their jobs.
  • MIND ZONE: a quiet inclusive space to chill out and recharge, also offering lots of mindful activities including yoga, henna and caricatures, head massages for parents and carers, and the Sound Beam, a hands-free instrument enabling people of all abilites to create and collaborate on music. And don’t forget the beanbags!
  • AROUND THE SITE: plenty to eat and drink, football with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, Trees for Cities (under the trees!), and fashion in the Youth Market.
