Department of Infectious Disease Grant Writing Workshop: Enhance Your Writing Skills

Are you planning to apply for a Fellowship or grant in the near future? Would you like to learn what makes a research proposal stand out from experienced researchers in your department?

Join us for a Department of Infectious Disease event designed to support all Early Career Researchers (ECRs). You’ll have the opportunity to hear from departmental researchers about their experiences in writing grant and fellowship applications, spanning various career stages (senior, junior, clinical, and non-clinical). We will also highlight departmental support available to you, including costing applications and peer review processes.

In the afternoon, participate in small table discussions focused on specific funders or schemes, chaired by an Imperial board member who sits on the funder decision committee. The session will include:  Prof Gary Frost (NIHR schemes, Prof Marina Botto (for MRC fellowship schemes), Prof Wendy Barclay (for MRC grant applications), Prof Kevin Murphy (Wellcome Career Development Award) and Prof Francis Drobniewski (for MRC Gap Fund and MRC DPFS). This is a unique chance to gain in-depth insights and personalised advice.

This event is open to everyone: postdocs, early Fellows, mid-Fellows, Lecturers, and anyone who would benefit from attending. The event is free and catering is included. Make sure to register to secure a place!

Registration will close Friday 6 September.
