The lecture will focus on Professor Moreno’s ground-breaking approach to urban planning, which aims to create urban environments where all essential needs are met within a short perimeter on foot or by cycling. The 15-minute city aims to reduce reliance on motor vehicles, therefore decreasing carbon emissions and enhancing quality of life within the community.
About the speaker
Researcher of international renown, Professor Carlos Moreno is Scientific Director of the Chaire ETI at the Sorbonne Business School in Paris. He has earned recognition as a scientist with an innovative mind, pioneering works and his unique approach on urban issues. He is also a scientific advisor of national and international figures of the highest level. He works at the heart of issues of international significance as a result of his research, bringing an innovative perspective on urban issues and offering solutions to the issues faced by the cities, metropolises and territories in the 21st century. In May 2024, he published his book; ‘The 15-minute city: the urban planning concept to building sustainable cities’.
