Our Virtual Open Day, on Friday, 15 November 2024, 13.00-14.00, is a great way to find out more about studying Cancer Biology at Imperial College’s Faculty of Medicine.
This virtual event will include presentations from the course leader as well as the three stream leads. The team will also discuss teaching and assessments, and there will be a short session with an alumnus.
Our Cancer Biology course and its three streams provide broad training in research and prepare you for a research career in the fight against cancer. The course embraces cutting-edge developments in the field: you will experience some of the most technologically advanced approaches currently being applied to the broad field of cancer research in a teaching programme that comprises both theoretical and practical elements.
All three streams also offer you the chance to immerse yourself in a multidisciplinary research environment on a 10-month focused research project within one of Imperial’s world-leading research groups.
You can find out more about the three streams on offer below:
- Cancer Biology focuses on wet lab skills, data analysis, and communicating science to expert and lay audiences.
- Cancer Informatics focuses on computational and bioinformatics techniques, ethics, and communicating science to expert and lay audiences.
- Cancer Innovation focuses on the development and translation of bio- and deep-tech platforms from concept to realisation and onward to application and communication to scientific and commercial audiences.
