To all who graduated from what is now the Faculty of Engineering in a year ending in a 4 or a 9: the 2024 CGCA Reunion Luncheon is arranged specifically for you!

This event follows the pattern of the traditional City & Guilds College Association (CGCA) decade reunions, first held in 1979, for all those graduating in years ending 4 or 9. Members of both CGCA and RSMA who graduated in these years, together with spouses and partners, are most welcome.

The Rembrandt Hotel, where the lunch will be held in a private function room, is a short walk up Thurloe Place from South Kensington tube and only a few more minutes’ walk to Imperial. There will be inclusive aperitifs, three courses with wine, and tea and coffee to finish.

Between courses we will hear personal reminiscences – one from a representative of each decade. Volunteer speakers who’d like to share their memories will be very much appreciated. There will also be student representatives from the present City & Guilds College Union (CGCU), together (hopefully!) with Boanerges, Spanner & Bolt, and sales of CGCA ties for members. Tours of the campus may be arranged, according to demand on the day.

Key details:
Date: Saturday 23 November
Location: The Rembrandt Hotel, 11 Thurloe Place, South Kensington, SW7 2RS
Time: 12.30 onwards
Cost: £58 per per person, or £52.50 per person for groups of 5+

As there is a discount for groups of five or more, do contact your contemporaries to ensure as large a gathering as possible. Seating will be with others from the same decade.

These lunches have proved very successful for over forty years. Given the very positive comments after last year’s lunch, we’re sure you’ll have a fun, if nostalgic, time meeting up with old friends.
