“The reality of taking major projects from conception to construction: a journey through major projects in the UK including funding, consent and politics.” Matt Palmer, BEng Hons, MICE

Mostly we follow the ups and downs of the UK’s major projects through the lens of the media, but Matt has been at the very heart of some of the UK’s biggest projects over the past 2 decades. From the soaring success of Terminal 5 to the disappointment of the Heathrow Expansion Programme being cancelled, and now leading the Lower Thames Crossing, Matt has been on the inside and understands what makes or breaks these schemes from their conception, business cases, funding (public & private) and the real life challenges of Development Consent against backdrops of political and social change. All that before you start to build!
