Ageing mechanics and interventions

With ageing populations arguably the greatest challenge to a sustainable healthcare system, our next faculty mini-symposium aims to highlight the breadth of current research into healthy ageing and longevity at Imperial and beyond. We explore the opportunities and challenges: from the biology of ageing to development of interventions and their implementation in clinical settings, the importance of lifestyle and environmental factors and the impact of social determinants and policy change.

Join us on Tuesday 18 February from 10.00 for our mini-symposium on ‘Ageing Mechanisms and Interventions’ to learn more about the healthy ageing research landscape, and how Imperial and its partners are making a difference. The symposium will feature speakers from the Faculty of Medicine and the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences, as well as Professor Brian Kennedy, Director of the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Programme at the National University of Singapore, and Tina Woods, social entrepreneur, Healthy Longevity champion for the National Innovation Centre for Ageing, Executive Director of the International Institute of Longevity and co-lead for the Quantum Healthy Longevity Innovation Mission and City of Longevity programme

The event is intended for an internal non-specialist audience. Whilst aimed chiefly at the Faculty of Medicine (both medics and non-medics), attendees from other faculties and NHS partners are very welcome, so please do invite your colleagues, collaborators and students.
