Three alumni networking at a past event over drinks at a venue with exposed brick and warm lighting

Calling alumni in the South West!

Few issues unite the Imperial community with as much determination and urgency as the climate crisis. Our future health is inextricably linked to the health of our planet.

Imperial is a world-leader in climate change research, and our community of students, researchers and alumni are uniquely placed to deliver the solutions we need to make the Zero Pollution vision a reality.

We hope you can join us this March,  for an evening spotlighting Imperial’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Professor Peter Childs FREng, a renowned authority in engineering design and sustainable innovation, will be coming to Bristol to discuss Imperial’s pioneering sustainability efforts with alumni who are based in the region.

Taking part in an exciting start-up showcase on the night, will be a number of our alumni founders working at the cutting edge of clean tech innovation, who will be sharing their trailblazing solutions for a climate-resilient future.

Over drinks and light bites at a centrally located venue in Bristol, this is a great opportunity to reconnect with your alma mater at a very exciting time.

Recently ranked 2nd in the world and 1st in the UK and Europe, and 2nd in the UK for sustainability , we encourage you to join us to find out more about how you can participate in the future of Imperial, and meet fellow alumni who live in the UK South West.

Ponda
The Ponda logo, which is their name spelt in white font on a black background with a squiggly white graphic on the leftPonda – is a Bristol based biomaterials company developing technologies to transform plants grown in regenerated peatlands into next-generation textiles for the fashion industry. Their first product, BioPuff, is an innovative insulation material used as an alternative to animal-based goose-down and synthetic fillers. By connecting the restoration of precious peatlands to the creation of healthier materials, farmers are able to build climate resilience whilst supplying an industry striving to reach net-zero targets. Founded by Julian Ellis-Brown and Finlay Duncan (MSc Innovation Design Engineering 2020).

Treeva

To address energy supply risks and reduce emissions, Treeva turbines harness the energy from the airflow of passing transport on the side of roads and railways. Co-founded by Anjali Devadasan and Yu Gu (MEng Materials Science and Engineering 2024).

Sealeo
