The Summer School is a 4 day (7th – 10th July 2025) event that gives students a microcosm of university life as a physics undergrad. The entire school is centred around the ubiquitous phenomena of oscillations. Students will receive lectures and spend time in a real undergrad laboratory. They will be taught to program in the Python programming language from scratch and use their new found knowledge to model and simulate real physical systems. Finally they will, as a group, present the work that they have done with prizes awarded for the best presentations. This event is provided free of charge and participants are provided with free lunch vouchers. Given the group nature of the school we usually ask schools to send groups of ~8-10 students and if possible a member of staff (needn’t be same member each day) to act as mentor.
