Join us at the next Science Cafe on Advancements in Radiotherapy @ Imperial at Maggie’s West London.
As the field of radiotherapy continues to advance, the dedicated team of physicists at Imperial Healthcare are consistently helping to implement the latest technologies, to provide state-of-the-art care for our patients. This session offers an overview of 3 exciting new technologies recently or soon-to-be implemented within the department, with an insight into how they are transforming patient care and the future of radiotherapy at Imperial.
1) Scanning Techniques in Radiotherapy A discussion around image quality improvements and research opportunities introduced with our new CT scanner, and the positive impact this has on patient treatment
2) Improved treatment techniques for Breast Radiotherapy : A research project investigating Breast VMAT for the treatment of high risk breast cancer patients, optimising the pathway so that patients get the right technique
3) Tomotherapy: Fighting cancer one slice at a time as the department prepares for the commissioning of our first ever tomotherapy treatment machine, we explore the benefits of this technology and how it will change the way we delivery radiotherapy treatment.
