As part of Mental Heath Awareness Week Programme organised by Imperial College London (13-18 May 2019), Chaplaincy Multi-Faith Centre is offering the following workshop to both students and staff.
Exploring Self Compassion in Mindfulness
Mindfulness was developed as a clinically trialed way for patients to handle chronic pain and depression. Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention, in the present moment without judgment. Mindfulness has been shown to be effective in dealing with stress and anxiety.
The session is open to beginners and those with experience. Mindfulness is a non-religious form or meditation. In the session, we will look at a range of options that explore self-compassion and help us befriend our self-critical ‘judging voice’.
Led by Hogetsu Baerndal.
