The Musculoskeletal Medical Engineering Centre (MSk MEC) brings together researchers from across Imperial College London focussed on the discovery and application of new technologies to improve the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, such as osteoarthritis.

The next MSk MEC seminar will take place on 22nd February, 2019 at White City – Molecular Sciences Hub. Lunch will be served from 12:30 pm in Seminar Rooms – G23 & G24 and the keynotes and short talks will take place in the B10 lecture theatre from 13:00. There will also be a drinks reception after the final talk.

Our confirmed keynote speakers are Prof Hanna Isaksson from Lund University, Sweden and Professor Derek McMinn from the McMinn Centre in Birmingham, UK. Prof Hanna Isaksson will be speaking on ‘A multiscale approach to study bone damage and fracture mechanisms‘ and Professor McMinn will be discussing ‘A Career developing Hip Resurfacing’.

There will also be other short talks from the research groups of Dr Andrew Phillips, Prof. Anthony Bull and Dr Niamh Nowlan.

The Imperial Shuttle leaves the South Kensington Campus (from the library) at 11:15 and 12:15 and gets to White City at 11:45 and 12:45, respectively

Also a dedicated shuttle for the MSk MEC seminar will depart South Ken – from the library at 12 noon. The shuttle will return to South Ken after the seminar, departing White City at 4pm.
