Crowdfunding: does it work for private investors and scale-up entrepreneurs?

This is set to be an impactful event with a panel of Chairs and CEOs from the world of angel investing and crowdfunding. The panel will discuss the different forms of investing and dispel crowdfunding myths. They will also and consider the future of fundraising: including the growth of online investing and developments in the market such as cryptocurrencies and Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs).

Oliver Woolley (MBA 1992) will chair the panel. Oliver is Co-Founder of Envestors Private Investor Network, Board Director of UK Crowdfunding Association (UKCFA) and a member of Court at Imperial College London.

Having sold his catering business in 1997, Oliver moved in to early-stage investing.  His first three investments did not go well, as a result of which Oliver co-founded Envestors, the Network for Sophisticated Investors.  Envestors has 3,500 members and has invested £210m into 110 scale-up tech companies. Envestors operatesEnvestry™ a white-label equity crowdfunding software platform licensed to companies wanting to manage their own investments.
