A cleaner future for buses

Imperial Racing Green in association with Energy Futures Lab are delighted to host Alex Schey, CEO of Vantage Power Ltd and alumnus of Imperial College London.

Alex will talk about his days as an undergrad, his Pan-American Highway adventure in a self designed all-electric supercar, and how he founded a company to disrupt our public transport system by retrofitting polluting buses with cleaner hybrid-electric powertrains.

Biography

Alex Schey is CEO and co-founder of Vantage Power, a company based in London developing hybrid and electric powertrain technologies for heavy-duty vehicles, and has been involved in this industry since 2007. He is a graduate of Imperial College London and part of the team behind Racing Green Endurance, an initiative that drove the 26,000 km from Alaska to Argentina along the Pan-American highway in an all-electric supercar.

A mechanical engineer by training, Alex is passionate about promoting STEM to the next generation, and has given over 50 speeches at schools and universities in addition to 2 TEDx talks. He is fortunate to have been voted one of London’s “25 under 25” in 2013 by The Evening Standard, and one of Europe’s “30 Under 30” by Forbes in 2016.
