Gareth is an Imperial electronic engineering graduate. After a few years working in broadcast and telecoms engineering, he gave it all up and returned to Imperial to pursue the MSc in Science Communication. The next stop was the BBC where work experience led to a sporadic freelance career, that led eventually to regular work as a science radio presenter.

Roll forward a decade or two, and now he host the BBC World Service tech radio programme Click. He is also an occasional presenter on Radio 4’s Inside Science and one of the hosts of the Science Hour on World Service. He holds an academic post back here at Imperial as a lecturer on the Science Communication and Science Media Production MSc programmes. As a professional science communicator, he is often invited to host workshops, discussion panels and conferences on science and technology.
