Xia Chen (MSc DIC Management, 2015) believes that with the support of alumni and friends, students at Imperial can be supported to achieve great things – for themselves and the wider community.
I have fond memories of studying at Imperial, and with the help from the Business School Careers team I found a graduate job in the specialised domain that I dreamed of getting in. When I started my graduate job, I felt it was time to contribute back to the College.
I always wanted to work in the IT industry and, before coming to Imperial, my long-term plan was to work in IT Architecture. In a conventional career path, it takes a few years before an IT professional can be eligible to work on IT Architecture projects. But studying at Imperial set me on my professional trajectory much earlier than I expected.
I have many happy memories from my time at Imperial: of my summer term syndicate team, making lasting friendships with people from my course, meeting very clever and passionate people through volunteering, and participating at events organised by different societies. I believe that if you are motivated, Imperial offers an excellent platform for you to grow.
With a little gift from all of us, we can make a difference to a hardworking and brilliant individual who has the potential to influence the surrounding community.
