What is the President's Scholarship?
Undergraduate
The President's Scholarship is the most prestigious award the College has to offer. There is no formal application process - instead departments are responsible for nominating scholarship recipients as part of the admission process. This means that they have identified you as being the brightest and best in your year, congratulations! You will receive £1,000 for each year of your studies for up to four years.
Postgraduate
The President's PhD Scholarship aims to support 50 research students who have great potential and provides them with opportunity to work within their chosen research field with the support of an excellent supervisor. This scheme is highly competitive and means that you are among the highest achievers in your cohort, congratulations!
Who supports it?
The undergraduate scholarship is fully funded by alumni and friends of the College. The PhD scheme is part funded by donations and part funded by the College. This means that donors have chosen to donate to this fund because they believe that supporting students is incredibly important. They may have received a free education or scholarship support themselves and they recognise that a scholarship will help to make your time studying at Imperial a little easier.
Who are we?
We are part of the Advancement Division at the College. Our aim is to secure support for the College by building strong relationships with alumni and friends. When you graduate, you will automatically become an alumnus of the College and will be able to maintain a relationship with the institution long in to the future. Some alumni choose to give back and support one of our ten funds as a way of recognising how important their education was to them and we help to facilitate that.
As the Regular Giving Team we are regularly in contact with alumni, via mail and phone, to keep them up to date with what is happening at the College, report back to them on the impact of their gifts and encourage them to give again. Showcasing the work and lives of our students is key to this.
How can you help?
Attend an event
There are several events throughout the year for alumni and donors. This provides you with an opportunity to meet and network with alumni as well as say thank you to those who have supported your studies. Please get in touch if you are interested in attending future events.
Become a student caller
We run three telephone campaigns a year where we train students to speak to alumni and update them on how they can support students. A fantastic way to give back to the fund to support future students! Look out for future opportunities to apply.
