Hansika is currently based at the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka. Her work focuses on the development of innovative textile-based surface EMG sensors designed to monitor muscle activity, particularly focusing on detecting muscle fatigue and recovery. At Imperial, Hansika was hosted in the Dyson School for Engineering by Professor Thrishantha Nanayakkara.

Mehwish Ambreen
Mehwish is a PhD student at the National Institute for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in Pakistan. Her research focuses on developing a rapid, low-cost diagnostic assay for typhoid fever. It involves using Loop mediated isothermal amplification of DNA with lateral flow sensing to visualise signals like pregnancy tests. At Imperial Mehwish was hosted by Professor Danny O'Hare in the Department of Bioengineering.

Daniel Petro
Daniel is currently based at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. His work involves using time series analysis to assess the impact of various interventions on past malaria cases in Tanzania and predict future cases. At Imperial, Daniel was hosted by Dr. Lucy Okell in the School of Public Health.

Saubhagya Danasekara
Saubhagya is a PhD student at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in Sri Lanka. Her research focuses on investigating the epidemiology and transmission dynamics of dengue in Sri Lanka using data from an urban and semi-urban area in Colombo where the highest incidence rates occur annually. Saubhagya was hosted by Dr. Ilaria Dorigatti in the School of Public Health.

Eedy Sana
Eedy is based at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi. Eedy's work focuses on understanding the failure mechanism of monsoon-triggered landslides on the hilly roads of the Indian Himalayan region. At Imperial, Eedy was hosted by Dr. Tiago Gaspar, in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Menka
Menka is currently based at Max Healthcare - A unit of Devki Devi Foundation in India. Her research aims to investigate the correlation between periodontal disease, commonly known as gum disease, and Type 2 Diabetes in the population residing in the urban slums of New Delhi. At Imperial, Menka was hosted by Professor Sophie Day in the School of Public Health.

Akpe-Mary Eddy-Doh
Akpe is currently based at the University of Ghana. Her research seeks to re-evaluate the susceptibility of pests to insecticide through bioassays and controlled field trials, investigate the effect of the insecticide on beneficial organisms and develop a comprehensive Integrated Pest Management strategy that will be introduced to the farmers and other stakeholders. Akpe was hosted by Dr. Peter Graystock in the Department of Life Sciences.

Martin Chamai
Martin is a currently based at the University of Ghana. His research aims to develop new tests which can be used directly in the clinic to rapidly distinguish between different malaria parasite species and to detect resistance to key antimalarial drugs, allowing treatment decisions to be tailored to each patient and providing important surveillance information about parasite species and antimalarial rates in different areas. At Imperial Martin was hosted by Dr. Jesus Rodriguez- Manzano and Professor Aubrey Cunnington.

Dilakshi Lekamlage
Dilakshi is a current PhD student at the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka. Her research aims to help help predict those at risk of hypertension and impaired lung function among South Asian adults through risk prediction modelling and thereby providing information for preventing major cardiovascular incidents and mortality in South Asia. At Imperial Dilakshi was hosted in the School of Public Health by Professor Mark Chadeau.

Elie Kounika
Elie is a PhD student at the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin. His research investigates the environmental impact of artisanal gold mining in Perma, and the use of toxic chemicals like mercury and cyanide to extract gold from rocks and sediments, which pollute nearby water sources. The study aims to understand the impact these pollutants have on the environment. Elie was hosted in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering by Dr. Ben Howard and Professor Wouter Buytaert.

Nicholaus Mziray
Nicholaus is currently based at the Ifakara Health Institute in Tanzania. His work focuses on using mathematical modelling techniques to assess the extent to which Plasmodium falciparum resistance to Sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine impacts the efficacy of chemoprevention strategies in Mainland Tanzania. At Imperial Nicholaus was hosted by Dr. Lucy Okell in the School of Public Health.
