At Imperial, we are committed to embedding sustainability knowledge and skills throughout our educational programs. Climate Fresk exemplify this mission by offering all Imperial students and staff an engaging 3-hour workshop based on IPCC climate science. Through interactive learning, participants gain a clear understanding of climate systems while developing practical tools for climate action. This innovative approach transforms complex climate science into accessible knowledge, empowering our community to build effective solutions through deeper understanding.
What are Climate Fresks?
Climate Fresk is an NGO established in 2018 with a clear mission: to accelerate global understanding of climate issues and drive necessary changes for environmental preservation. Through their innovative teaching approach and collaborative methodology, they've built an expanding community of climate educators known as 'Freskers'.
A Climate Fresk workshop is a 3-hour interactive learning experience where participants collaboratively explore climate science through structured activities. Teams work with cards covering various climate topics, mapping cause-and-effect relationships between different environmental elements, and create a visual representation of climate change systems. The session aims to spark meaningful discussions about climate implications and potential actions.
At Imperial, Climate Fresks are integral to the institution's commitment to embedding sustainability knowledge throughout its educational programs. These IPCC-based workshops transform complex climate science into accessible knowledge, empowering the Imperial community to develop practical solutions through enhanced understanding.
